Hi folks, We have at least one full-time senior ROR spot on our team to fill for a versatile full-stack web app developer.
We're a 40-ish-strong multi-disciplinary agency in Fitzroy. Our digital department is relatively new, and we have a fierce backlog of high-end websites and web apps waiting to be serviced by the best and brightest minds in Melbourne. You'll have an opportunity to contribute to production policies and help establish best practices for the agency, as well as cutting plenty of code around beefy AWS stacks with load balancers, job queues, and all the fun tech stuff you don't get at most agencies. The essential skill for us is full-stack Rails. That means a bit of HAML, plenty of SCSS, some client-side MVC (Angular or what not), and Ruby with your eyes shut. CoffeeScript would be a definite advantage, but not essential. You'll be working with existing code, so you'll need to be able to adapt beyond your own preferred methods from time to time. That said, you'll be mostly unsupervised, so be prepared to take some ownership of your projects! Here's the clincher... we have non-Rails projects too. If you're the guy/gal I've described and you're also comfortable with PHP frameworks like Symfony or Yii, we'd love to hear from you. We're not accepting remote candidates at this stage.
