Hi everyone, I'm looking for a programming-related job in Sydney, ideally as a back-end Rails developer.
So far I've purely done bioinformatics work (using computer programs to analyse biological data). I did half a year of Rails back in 2007 in the US working on projects related to the Encyclopedia Of Life (eol.org). I worked for six and a half years at UNSW using Ruby, mainly looking at mutation in HIV. I'm an active participant in the Ruby community. I have spoken at RubyKaigi in 2011 and 2012, and at an associated event called RubyHiroba in 2013. I have also attended RubyConf Australia and RubyConf Taiwan. In Sydney, I've acted as a mentor at Rails InstallFest, Rails DevHub and Rails Girls. I've attended and spoken at RoRoSyd and Rails Camp. My side projects used to be fun projects such as the Small Eigen Collider, which generated random Ruby code, but nowadays my side projects are more practical, such as helping search for a suitable flat-mate.
