Hi All - I am happy to announce that we are looking to hire two junior or intern developers to come and work with us in our new office in Surry Hills (Sydney). Position details are below:
— Fat Zebra is a technology company that provides secure credit card payment services directly to merchants and technology partners. The company has been established for over 4 years and has enjoyed continued growth. We are currently looking for 2 new developers to join our small team, and ideally we would like to take on junior developers or offer a paid internship to a student studying software development, computer science or other similar fields. As a developer with Fat Zebra you will be responsible for the following tasks: * Development of front end web applications (Ruby on Rails, Postgres or API backends). Our front end applications include our Merchant Dashboard, Reseller Dashboard and some of our payment tools such as bespoke hosted payment pages * Development of new features within front end and back end applications * Bug fixes and improvements for these applications * Participation in code reviews with our senior developer * Participation in discussions with regards to the development roadmap * Work with the other developers to manage bug reports, issues and feature requests * Assist with support tickets relating to the customer facing applications In addition to this you may also work on the upkeep of our existing plugins (for shopping carts etc) and the development of new plugins and functionality where required. This will mainly be PHP based but will also cover .NET (C#), Java, Python, Go and other languages. As we are looking for junior or intern developers we are committed to mentoring and growing successful applicants skills with training programs and opportunities to attend events such as RailsConf, Rails Camp and more. This is an ongoing full time or part time position, dependent on availability. Ideally we are looking for someone who can work at least 20 to 30 hours a week, however we are flexible with the hours and days worked, and we are willing work with study schedules where required. This role will not include any weekend work. A police background check will be required for any successful candidates due to industry requirements. This position will initially be based in our Surry Hills (Sydney, NSW) office, however we are willing to consider remote work at a later date if needed. Salary will be negotiable dependent on skill/experience and availability. — Residency requirements: Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents preferred (inc. New Zealand Citizens) - we are happy to consider non-citizens but you will need to hold a work permit and this will also be dependent on a suitable background check being available from your last place of residence.
