*Job: *Developer Evangelist (official title) In reality, it's a mix of both 'Developer Relations' and 'Developer Evangelism'. Our team is responsible for (and to) all developers using the Xero API (http://developer.xero.com/)
*Typical tasks involve:* - Talking through developers use cases to determine how the best possible integration can be made - Working with internal product teams to release API's publicly and improve them based on external developers feedback & requirements - Maintaining documentation, contributing to wrapper libraries & other resources which assist developers at scale - Reviewing & certifying Xero integrations to be included in the Xero Add-ons / Marketplace: https://www.xero.com/au/add-ons/ - Organising & promoting Xero developer related events (primarily Xerocon Developer Day), see video: https://vimeo.com/138489980 It's a fast moving, highly self directed environment. Your direct team is primarily remote (AU, NZ, US & UK), but you will also work with a range of local & remote product teams. There is a lot of capacity to shape how Xero engages with partners on a technical level through this role. Xero is built on .net, while I prefer Ruby, PHP & JS. The position is largely language agnostic, as partners are using the Xero API. The team has experience in a wider range of languages, so we jump in where required. No accounting background is required for this role, there is always an accounting expert to be found at Xero if you need assistance in that area. *Company: *Xero Xero is a fast growing, cloud based accounting saas company.
