A vibrant and inclusive culture with regular team events. *Opportunity* The Technical Lead Development Manager will be responsible for leading by example. This is a small team of ~10 where everyone respects each other’s work. The Tech Lead will need to be one of the strongest contributors to gain the respect and trust of the others. 70% of the job entails committing code with the remaining 30% being made up of management tasks (mentoring, managing QA, code reviews, workforce planning etc.) The team has many interesting challenges building robust and scalable software solutions and will be looking to this position for leadership. *Tools* - Languages: We don't look for any particular languages but the ideal candidate should have strong open source programming experience with any of the following Ruby on Rails, full stack JavaScript (Node.js), Python, Go, Rust - Testing Frameworks: Selenium WebDriver, Protractor, Cucumber, Mocha, Apiary - Databases: PostgreSQL - Build Tools: Solid Unix/Linux and should be comfortable working with command line interface - Versioning Tools: GIT (GitHub) - Design skills: Page Object Model - Methodology: Agile Scrum, Behaviour Driven Development BDD, Test Driven Development TDD, Continuous Integration (Jenkins CI) *To be successful you will need: * - A passion for software testing and delivering software that has quality built in from the beginnin*g* - Demonstrated expert knowledge of full stack JavaScript Development (or similar) - Experience with other modern programming languages, like Go or Rust is a plus - An understanding of complex database concepts and high quality API design - To be an active contributor to open source projects / personal open source projects (bonus) - A willingness to continually advance the delivery process, including the deployment pipeline - Proven ability to implement complex technical solutions in an Agile environment - Modern database expertise (relational and NoSQL) - Good stakeholder and team member communication skills A great opportunity for Snr Software Engineer or 2IC looking to step up and lead a team or an existing Tech Lead looking for an Agile team where there is more say in the product and technology direction.
