Hi everyone! We have published the talks for RubyConf AU this week on http://rubyconf.org.au! We are all really excited about the line up and hope that you will be too.
For 2017, we wanted to create a conference around "The Future of Ruby" - a conference that would remind us all why we fell in love with Ruby, and why it's still an exciting language and community to be part of. We were really thrilled to read through the proposals in our CFP, and seeing our vision come together with the final line up was fantastic! We're trying something new this year with a dual track second day, to allow for some longer, more in depth technical talks. You'll have the chance to hear about upcoming Ruby features from a core member of the Ruby and Rails team, functional programming influences in Ruby, see Ruby used for VR and a Gameboy Emulator, and what happens when an application goes off the Rails - and that's just a taster. A major part of RubyConf AU has always been the social events and the chance to hang out with our amazing community (just check out the tweets from last year). In 2017, we'll be having an opening party at ScienceWorks and closing out the conference with an evening of bowling, laser quest, pool and other games. All conference tickets include access to the parties. If you haven't already grabbed a ticket, we've just extended the Early Bird by an extra couple of days to give everyone chance to have a look at the line up. Buy tickets here: https://ti.to/ruby-australia/rubyconf-au-2017 We also have concession tickets available for $150 - please email [email protected] to grab one! They are available to students and anybody with a concession card. Hope to see you all there!
