Coming from the Perl world, it's hard to imagine how anyone functions without
CPAN :). Would anyone be there be any interest in setting up something similar
(like openjsan.org) for prototype/scriptaculous libraries that others can
contribute.

Right now, when someone comes into the fold, they have to look all over the
web/mailing archives/delicious to find some of the cool stuff that others have
done. This would bring them all into one place (each can still have their own
homepage too if they want) and make them easier to compare. It would also help
module authors to not step on others' namespaces.

Then the cream would rise to the top and could be included in a /plugins dir
within scriptaculous itself. But it would also allow the authors of those libs
to make updates/releases independent of scriptaculous.

Just some thoughts.
