I'm sure you all have seen a diamond.
It's very hard, very bright and worth much.

You may have seen coal, and it's a dull black,
common and crumbles easy.

Can anyone tell me what is common to both?

Right! Both are made of the exact same elements.
In every way but one.. they are alike..

The only difference between a diamond and a lump
of coal is that a diamond is rare. I compare that
quality of a diamond to the mind of a sharp man.

A "Diamond of a man" means that he has a strong mind
body, and shineing spirit... The Coal lump is like
a dull man who not mentaly sharp, physicaly strong
or all that spiritualy bright<G>

Someone once said that a Diamond is just a piece of Coal
stuck in a hard place. The heat and pressure over Millions
of years caused it to trasform from a lump of coal to
something of great value.

My hope is that though all the life you live, that you
will stick with the values of the Ranger Code, and find
that in time your value like the Diamon has increased.
