So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God. Where there is no counsel, plans fail; But in a multitude of counselors they are established. Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. How good is a word at the right time! Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. He who spares his words has knowledge. He who is even tempered is a man of understanding. Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise. When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning. The words of a man's mouth are like deep waters. The fountain of wisdom is like a flowing brook. The words of a gossip are like dainty morsels: They go down into a person's innermost parts. A word fitly spoken Is like apples of gold in settings of silver. Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him. "Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Don't you add to his words, Lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.
