Had an awsome night with the Yth on Friday. Our Youth Pastor has been doing a series with the Yth on todays persecuted church. Last night they became the persecuted church.
18 Yth participated. All they new is that they needed to find an "operative" who would give them clues to get to the "safe house" and they could only get there if they had the right password, but they would be followed by the Secret Police and some may even be captured. They were broken into two teams and had a driver who could not help them. If they got sprayed by silly string from the Police, they were captured and brought to "jail" tied up and blind folded. At the safe house, they did a study of real people who were imprisoned or tortured for their belief in Christ. At the Jail, they were "tortured". Even my dad, who was on patrol(sheriff) was in on it and stopped one of the vehicles to question them. We preplanned that four would be captured and the Secret Police kept the teams on their toes by trailing them all night. It helped that they knew were all the clues were. Those who were captured were brought to the jail at church. They were put in dark rooms. I was the interrorgater. Tough job done with a lot of Prayer. The Yth were challenged to always remember and pray for those who are persecuted for Christ and know how blessed they are to live in a free society. Also to not be fearful to witness to those in their schools and get into the Word. All in all very good activity that we plan to do again. God Bless. Geno Plares O.P.#178 NCal/Nev.
