Don't flirt with sin, or see how close you can come to it without actually sinning, but run away from it as fast as you can by running towards righteousness. When you whole-heartedly seek righteousness and earnestly seek the Kingdom of God, walking in the Holy Spirit and in the love of God, then you won't have time for worldly stuff. Indeed, the pleasures of sin will pale compared to the pleasure and sheer joy of serving God with a clean heart!

Does The Bible Say It Is Wrong To Drink Or Smoke Marijuana?
by Eastman Curtis

The Bible as a whole tells a story about a God Who wants His people to be set free from death and anything that causes death. Marijuana (or pot) and alcohol are two things the world offers us as a temporary escape.

God wants you to be free of everything that pollutes your spirit and body, including pot and alcohol. Once you realize that fact, it is easy to wise up to the devil's deception and refuse to fall for it.

Don't compromise your freedom for a cheap escape. Compromise is like tooth decay. You don't feel it at first. But if you don't deal with the problem, the day will come when your whole mouth is rotted out. At that point, the slightest pressure applied to your teeth can make them begin to crumble.

"From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That's what Jesus did.

That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don't give it the time of day. Don't even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time - remember, you've been raised from the dead! - into God's way of doing things. Sin can't tell you how to live. After all, you're not living under that old tyranny any longer. You're living in the freedom of God." (Rom. 6:11-14 The Message)

That's what compromise does. If you fall into sin and don't repent of it, that sin can eventually cause everything good in your life to crumble.
