What a wonderful trip! If it weren't a sin I'd be jealous. As it is I feel
blessed that you shared it with us.

Be blessed!

hello all,
at the moment things here are very errie. There is silence in the house.
Sister in law Liz has wisked the kids away to see a movie and then spend the
night. Tomorrow they will go to Dundee and see a docked ship called
Discovery. I have not seen the house this quiet since I arrived!

Can't remember when I last wrote. Ron made it home safely and through
customs ok. His Claymore and Randy's basket sword were fine. No one can say
we didn't make use of the time when he was here. We put unheard of milage on
a rental car here, but it was all fantastic.

Tuesday night we got whisked away to an icehockey match by my nephew.
Brilliant fun even if our team did loose. Cal Brown, the first manager of
the New Mexico Scorpians used to play for this team - the Fife flyers. Randy
bought a hat and Misty a puck. Another family member managed to wrangle
Randy a game puck, and is getting him the scarf. Darrian managed to get a
ticket stub back for Randy as they take the whole thing away. Some guy who
had been watching all the goings on told Randy there was some left over ice
if he wanted to take that home as well!!! Brought back some old
memories. These stadiums have no plexiglass so if a puck goes off the ice it
is ALL DUCK! What a laugh. We hope to get to another game before we leave.

Misty will vault again this Monday and my sister in law will take her.
She'll have to miss a week as Caitlin's dad did not manage to get a day off
as he had hoped. She will make it to the party. They wanted to try to plan a
barrel competition, but I think time has gone in too quickly really. LAst
week we went up early to do some shopping and get Misty a shirt even if the
place does have horren
dously high prices. It felt good walking through the front doors after
having been shoo'ed off so many times as a kid. They actually greeted us as
we went in. If you are not fmiliar with Gleneagles check it out on the net.
What a place!

Right before Ron left we also went back to the McLaren kirk in the daylight.
It is so funny that Rob Roy MacGregor and other MacGregors are burried there
as it was the MacGregors that slaughtered the McLarens. Amazing place this.
New Church was left open for all to enter. They have several very
historic items just out on display with no one insight to keep an eye on
things. One is the grave covering of ST. Angus burried in 750A.D. We decided
to walk to a water fall and found a sign to the Creg an Turic the boar's
rock and decided to follow it. We had no idea just how far we had to
climb!!!! I was so glad we did. What a view of the valley and loch below. I
can just see my ancestors ra
llying the clan here.

Followed a single track road to a hotel to find something to eat.Only place
for miles. Found out dinner plates cost 30 per person ( 45 dollars) oops we
were stuck! They only serve what they grow, raise, or hunt on the property.
We managed 3 sandwiches and 3 drinks and were relieved to find that
we did not have to wash dishes. Smile. Kids had decide to stay home that day
so my sister went with
us.

Before Ron left we managed up to Inverness, Lochness and the Isle of Skye.
All you can see is sheep
. Sheep everywhere. Outside of Inverness is a place called Fort George. We
were able to visit this
16th century sronghold that is still in use today. It was wierd looking
around the place and seeing
soldiers everywhere. We were never sure where we could go and where we
couldn't. This was where th
e boys got their swords.

Have made a few bus trips this week. It has been funny trying to get big
shopping bags on a bus. Sa
turday we took a train the Edinburgh to meet a Ranger net friend of mine
from England. He drove up
with his friend to see us. We had a great day and weather was cold but
clear. We visited Edinburgh
castle and ate lunch there. In early evening w took the Scottish Herratage
Distillery tour. It is a
neat presentation of the history and process of making whiskey (means water
of life). It was quite
educational. We had visited with Ron, but I learned more this trip.
Apparently whiskey makes up 90
of export from Scotland. AMAZING!!! Our evening meal was Indian cusine.
Only the second Indian mea
l I've eaten in 20 years and the last time was when Brian and his wife tr
eated us when the came to the states. Kids ate fried rice, but I went for a
true meal and was not d
issapointed.

This week the kids start karate and I get to visit with some old junior
school friends, a lady I us
ed to work with, my old barber (yes, barber) who used to have Scotand's only
country and western ba
nd, and a girl I was an aid to one Red Cross camp.

Found out my old Pastor is going through a divorce and has moved away. I
don't know if I'Ll see him
or not. Some scandles ahve been happening at the church too. It is a real
shame.

Been funny without Ron here to share it all with.

Love and God Bless to all

Lorraine

P.S. please pass on.
