Spoon is a term, common in the forty's and fifty's.  It references
an obvious shared romantic relationship between a man and a woman,
often visible in holding hands, and holding each other closely,
either side by side or one in front of the other.  The word "spoon"
was actually used this way in a song called "By the Light of the 
Silvery Moon"  I remember this song from a sing-a-long cartoon when
I was young.  Just follow the bouncing ball.  Try that with Rap ;-)
