Spoon is a term, common in the forty's and fifty's. It references an obvious shared romantic relationship between a man and a woman, often visible in holding hands, and holding each other closely, either side by side or one in front of the other. The word "spoon" was actually used this way in a song called "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" I remember this song from a sing-a-long cartoon when I was young. Just follow the bouncing ball. Try that with Rap ;-)
