I've seen some of the previews to Lord of The Rings.
Is this movie kind like Final Fantasy but with a different
time setting?

Once upon a time, in the mid 1980's there was a Christian music group named White Heart. A song that they sang was real popular at the time and the message of the song was "Read the Book, Don't Wait For The Movie." Sometimes movies are abbreviated like a "Cliff's Notes" or is subject to something getting sensationalized in the mov e but it wasn't that way in the book. It doesn't always match up. Just because we have computers now, doesn't mean books aren't any good anymore.
Just my humbled opinion with a thought to ponder.
