I gave today away to the Scouts and attended something of a indoor event called "day camp" for young straight arrow 1st grade age kids...
Son Josh and me "agreed" that we'd just "make a showing" and leave after two hours, but.. We stuck it out the entire day<G> *Learned a lot.. First.. If you want to give someone a job and have them stick.. Make it a REAL JOB with weight. Second.. "Cheap" hotdoogs taste better with LOTS OF MUSTARD.. Third.. A lot of things that are important.. *ain't all that important to the world. Mayby, "Being there" isn't about attending but rather about participateing. The day was planned in segments of events, by six different patrols of new scouts being led by one senior scout as "leader" He led them in games,skits and songs.. an to the various events like "slime makeing" from Borax, poster paint and glue.. "My" talent was assigned to lead in building paper snowflakes from glue dripped and dipped in glitter.. That's about all I could "handle"<G> ..but I started to get into it and had fun<G> I can't say that several times today I didn't wonder what I was doing there on a day off with the many projects I have in the fire.. but figured if Josh could take it..
