Fellow rangers, it is with much sadness that I must announce the
passing of one of our own. This afternoon at approximately 12:11pm, pst. Duane
R. Wheeler died of an apparent snakebite wound. I just got the call. Details
are sketchy at this time, but evidently, rigor mortis has set in and his cold,
dead fingers had to be pried from his old smokepole.
Duane was one of the original inductees into FCF at the first
callout in July of 1966. He was an avid proponent of equal rights in rangers
and in boy-led programs. He will be greatly missed by us all.
