He suggested I substitute "tell in your own words" for "write a essay" in the Ranger requirements. At first, I thought it was less than ideal ethics.. but now I see that it is wise, in that it puts the goal in the hands of what a younger boy can do.. What purpose is it to labor over writeing an "essay"? The boy can talk into a tape recorder, or phone me.
