I'm not attending, regretibly..
But if I did I'd like to ask about the Mission statement of Royal Rangers as it applies to the age groups we serve. 1. "Reach-Teach-Keep" signifies a unity of purpose from one group to the next, by a Leader. This is not allways possible. I might reach-teach and hand the boy over to others, and have little influence on the end result of "Keeping him".. 2."Total boy for Christ" signifies the boy will experiance a balanced view of the Ranger emblem, red points as well as Gold points. The Leadership team can stand back, and work for the boy to mature in wisdom, and integrity. Royal Rangers is being pulled in different directions by local oversight in the churches by Childrens ministries and Youth. Into this we mix the traditional thinking that it is a "Men's Ministry" ala LTC and potential for friction. This could be made clearer.. It's distressing to be a couple and serve at the pleasure of a Childrens ministry then be "re-buffed" for following the same boys (sons) through the program.
