Send a flyer home with the boys and leave it up to th parents. Of course, a boy will more than likely choose a pow wow or outpost campout over a family outing/overnighter...Inform the parents of the importance that pow wow holds in the Ranger ministry and let them make up their minds from there.
Then talk to your Pastor and/or church secretary (whoever doe sthe church calendar) and discuss event conflicts for the future...so that this doesn't happen again, and that your boys can, if they wish to, be with their parents on one weekend AND go on pow wows another.
