Stefan Thank you. I did not know whether to reply to your message or to the one by Andy Burns. In the end I decided that yours was more positive and to the point. Andy, why is my voice the voice of unreason? You can see objections with following the docrtrine of Rome. So can I. There are a lot of checks and balances contained within scripture. It is very easy to pick out the bit which reinforces your point. The Bible actually declares, "There is no God" but you have to know your Bible to put that statement into context. We are called to, "admonish one another". I do not read that those placed in a position of authority are an exception. Satan does not change a succesful strategy. Religion and tradition are part of his weaponry. Infallibility is wrong whether applied to the Pope or John Doe, Pastor of New Life Pentecostal Mission, Albuquerque, NM (fictitious).
Having said that, I am not an advocate of rebellion because I have to accept that I can be wrong also. If there is something that you really cannot go along with then the only course of action you have is to leave the pastorship. What we forget is that most pastors are put in place by committees. Men of God step out in faith without any backing and find Divine support in their work.
