Thought I'd share this feedback on the fire starter question. Sounds
kinda messy, but when one needs a fire, who cares? I'll probably
experiment with the idea you see below, but will major on the wax,
sawdust or lent and paper egg carton method.
Being fully aware that I'm showing my ignorance, I'll assume that
"BDU's" are camouflage pants. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. We want to
go with class "C" here, for the meetings at least, but don't have better
ideas than checking the Army Navy surplus for camouflage pants to fit the
boys and Commanders. Any better ideas?
Policy on Women on Campouts by order of our Pastor here is "no
women overnight". I'll follow our leader till he say's otherwise. I'd
like to see the "Women's role in Rangers" publication.

I have found dryer lint to be a fantastic fire starter. I mix it with
vaseline. This makes it water proof, and burns much longer, and easier
to
light. Take a handful of dryer lint, and a scoop of vaseline, mix it
together in your hands, and break off a small piece, about twice the size
of
a chocolate, and it will burn for 2 minutes or more.
