I have 3 boys in our outpost that were raised by their dad. Mom took
off 5 years ago. Should we use the following discussion to say...hey these
guys need female leaders to show them the other 3/4ths (Joke put in for fun)
of Gods creation woman. God is the one that said it wasn't good for
man to be alone. So he gave us a helper. It amazes me how much man
tries to superimpose God's plan for man and throw law at it. Yes we have
moral and privacy that must be adhered to. My instincts as some of
you want to call them lusts are God created and are very natural. How I
deal with those with God's help is my walk in life.
I face more temptation on the Internet than any campout with females
around. My decision with God's help is the same as Joseph's response... I
get out of there so fast the rocks are still flyin!!!
I hold to what I said earlier. There is no good reason way females
can't help and serve in RR. Make a note on the "good reason".
Let's keep our eyes on Christ and the finished work he completed at the
Cross. For those of you who have a problem you need to deal with in this
area. Ask the Holy Ghost for help. He will help you if your eyes are
focused on Christ.
p.s. 8 years ago... I had no use for females in RR. Wonder what
changed? Holy Ghost fired!
Our church does let women and men sit together. Glad you brought up a
positive point about our fellowship, if you were pointing that question
to me, Gunter. So, maybe we'll get liberal one day and have both genders on
the campsite. I'm glad ya'll have the liberty you have and are able to walk in
it in a godly way. Please pray for us here. But in the mean time, like I said,
we'll follow the leader.
I too will confess that the
relief time from battle with lust is also a welcome element to all male
situations for me too. Every male has that battle, but some of us more than
others.
Another point about all
guy camps is the fact that many households are dominated by women, many of
whom don't have a choice but to either be both the Mom and Dad, (hardest job
in the universe.....rightly said by Dobson) in absence of the Dad. Or in
the presence of the Dad, she is forced to make the major decisions since
he won't. And then there are those households where the Mom just has a death
hold on controlling things and the Dad takes a back seat rather than
fight with her 24/7. Unfortunately in todays world there are many boys who
live in the above scenario's, from which even homosexual tendencies can
possibly find emotional and psychological fuel. So in my
unprofessional opinion, these all guy campouts could help the ones
of us who are willing, to be more utilized as the father to the fatherless
that I know the Lord wants us to be in His stead, without a female presence.
(hoping to not rub salt into Flamings wounds, so as to cause them to flare up)
You got a lotta heart, Kelly!
And then there are always the
"family camp" alternatives, so that a church might find the best of both
worlds. That way, all who want to pick a gender oriented setting, or don't,
actually have a choice they can make. And if a family wants to adopt a
Ranger for that camp, which is not scheduled at the same time as an all male
R. R. camp, it'll be more like the more the merrier. Our Outpost has
a been ministering to street kids, that I think cold really benefit from
both settings.
Just some thoughts from where
I am in this right now. I'd like to say that these discussions have been
wonderful to witness and I appreciate the input of you all. (asbestos
armor...READY!)
By the way, my vote is for the
Christian flag also. Great point, Jose!
In Him,
Fred
