Hi Boris,
At our outpost we have an application form simply translated from the
application form used at the Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills CA.
We can not really do a backgrond check due to the infringement on privacy we
just added as a last sentence on that form:
"Are you prepared to produce a certificate of good conduct (can only be
issued by the police) if the leadership so requires from you ?"
I think this has kept unpleasant surprises away from us.

Here in Russia we don't usually do background check for new leaders. We are
not obliged to do that. But being recently in Krasnodar outpost (I made
their first Awards Ceremony) I realized it's not bad idea.

In my outpost too. Sometimes strange people come to you and say that they
want to be in Rangers. And they mean they want to go camping with you. And
you feel it's not right man. But don't know how to tell it to this guy.

Some time ago I also realized. I don't have to take everybody who comes to
be a commander. I usually discuss it with pastor and make decision. If the
person is strange... why not aks him about his background? ;-)))

Some people can put your outpost into ruins. Bible call them thiefs
(opposite to shepherd).
We had one creep in before we had our application form and almost destroyed
the whole OP.
Gnter

Boris
