Right amigo.. I'll give it a brief look-see and
then fire away<G> *Here goes..

If Royal Rangers is ONLY a religious organization, Then
perhaps a LARGE cross worn in the style of "Crusaders"
is worthy..

*However- If Royal Rangers has a place in teaching CITIZENSHIP
then we are about a *balance of efforts to instruct a young man
in a wholeistic view of the world he lives.

A Royal Ranger named *Mitchel Silvers joined the US Marines right
from Royal Rangers before he was 18.. *policy was at the time his
membership would remain intact as a Royal Ranger during military
service. PFC Silvers was sent to Vietnam in Jan.1968 with Marine
3/1 and in a direct assult on a VC/NVA village was killed by small
arms.

It seemes PFC Silvers gave his life for *Freedom, from a duty
assigned by the President of the United States. Many might feel
it worthy to support such nobility, with wearing of the US Flag.

    I dislike the

*Now many in Royal Rangers, have served both *Christ and *Country,
and begin each meeting with a "Pledge of Aliegence to the Flag"..
The US Flag represents FREEDOM to worship, and is placed in our
Church with respect.. *along with the Christian flag.

I see the issue you raise as being related to what *Pledge
you hold in "higher esteam".. What alligence do you profess to
your County and your God.

The Christian Flag *pledge has us pledge aliegence to the Savior
and his "Kingdom".. also One Brotherhood with service and Love.
*This to me seems Universal- International in scope

The pledge to the Flag of the USA-

"One Nation UNDER GOD" ...with Liberty and justice for all.
This to me seems that I have a duty to Country,Community and
the ethics of Freedom in a democratic society, with rule under
law.

A case was made about our flag

True- US Royal Ranger have "unique policies seperate from the
universal application of the Ranger code, we discuss this with
frequency on Rangernet<G>"

  This reasoning isn't valid because
> other
> countries already have their own national office, uniforms, policies,

I happen to agree with you.. One Program united in Gender Policy<G>
*But that is not the way it is..given a choice, I'd be a German or
Ozzie Royal Ranger. *My BIRTH however links me to loyality to the
USA.

When I put on my uniform I think of

Have you considered joining the Salvation Army?

To be a Royal Ranger, you must be first under 18...
Those over 18 are "Adult leaders of Royal Rangers"

So to truly be.. "A Soldier of God" requires a re-focused
mission statement than what Royal Rangers is today.. for
the *Mission is to Reach,Teach and Keep boys for Christ-

And no-where is this "Soldier of God" listed as a duty.
The Uniform has confused you, as it has others in thinking
RR is a "para-military" format. *It is not.

 There will be a

This is dangerious thinking in my mind.

We had better *support the USA that holds religious freedom in the same
hand as free speech or we may in fact be scurged from the earth, and
greater issues will rise as to what the role of a Christian will be.

You obviously feel strongly, but I ask you to *push with all you have
for your agenda, but be clear you do not *NEED to win if your cause
is just. *Natural change will trickle down in time.

*Just for the sake of debate-

In my home we hang the NORWEGIEN FLAG, because it is the country
of origin for my wifes familyheritage. My cultural heritage is
British/Scot/German.. and in these cases I see that there are
Christian symbolisum in all.

The British flag has the "Cross of Saint George" and all
Scandinavian flags share the same cross as the fundimental
element of their national flag.

*That said- *Permission to wear a BIG CHRISTIAN FLAG on your uniform!

I wear Sr.Commander bars made from Elk horn<G>
My Uniform used to be a California Hyway Patrol uniform<G>
and under my khaki pants (*that don't cut it) I wear SCOUT SOCKS!
