They are acceptable on campouts.  I occasional where them to work.  You
will see them at Pow Wow as well.  We have a low cost supplier for them
on occasion.  Also I have 3 pairs.  When we go backpacking it seems to be
the uniform of choice for the boys.  

Now Wed. Nights. We wear class B, Class C  uniforms.  With out that
uniform there is very little incentive to advance because no one wears
their uniforms except on only a few occasions.  As for me and my outpost 
with very few exceptions wear our Class B and C for the Glory of God and
to reveal the advancement trail to the GMA and the health of our Ranger
Program..  In less than a year I have a vision of a hundred men and boys
reaching, teaching and keeping boys for Jesus Christ.  

If we run the program like it is laid out in the manual it will work with
some elbow grease and prayer.
