All,
Just got an e-mail from a wonderful brother I met
while we interpreted a Promise Keepers conference a few years ago. We've
interpreted one or two others together since then and keep in touch. He
passed on a serious message just today.
His wife is dealing with a brain disease and
recently has been hallucinating and going downhill. They had yet another
MRI and it shows a tumor is growing. He mentions they may be just about
out of options. Their two young children are starting to pick up on the
seriousness of it all and are wondering if Mommy is going to die from this brain
tumor.
Doug is having a hard time with this, dealing with
the children, his wife - who is in a nursing home, and work. Many
times, he is the interpreter for his wife (she is also Deaf, not from the tumor)
when they meet with the Dr. So he has to process the information and still
give it to his wife at the same time.
