*Brother Adrian-
When the dust settles, and the wounds close a bit.. Please share what you think prudent about what concerned you. My reasons are, that I have not found Scouting a "problem" with reguard to any ethic or moral conviction and it concernes me if a brother would resign RR over some un-spoken snafu<G> Here on Rangernet we are free to talk things out, and have so..to the extream at times..<G> Bringing insight and perhaps shareing burdens.. *If I have seemed myself distant to the main stream thinking in my posts, It is truely from the desire to meet the challenges of todays kids with something effective and real that works. I'm not sure just "doing the program" is all that's needed... Cdr.Jen and I attended a fantastic dinner last night to honor our local councils 535 Eagle Scouts. A US Senator (Gordon Smith Rep.OR) spoke and I'll post what he had to say.. *It moved me. At the edge of 50 years old, you may remember the culture you and I shared that was anti-establishment and scoffed at uniformed services. Today, *Eagle scouts look to me for guidence. I came in today, and listened to the entire 15 minute recording of Iron Butterfly's "In-a-Godda-da-vida" and while it was nostolgic, I also knew that the words were writen to be "In the Garden of eaden" but the musicians were so stoned on drugs that they could not say those words! What wisdom does that experiance yeild? *Hold the outcome of that culture, and the pain of seeing young warriors throw their medals for valor back at the Government, and flash forward to the valor of 9-11 or todays efforts to fight world terrorisum. The world's have changed. *Clearly, the world has turned to needing young men of ethic and Integrity who honor themselves, even when in privet, unseen from accountibility. If the important issues are not bleached hair, tatoo's or studded leather..and music, then the issues must be a matter of the heart and the path set by God to find one's calling.. The Truth then never has changed! Love God-Love others- If our experiance shows us anything we now know that it is service to others that matters, that we are put here to encourage the faint on the trail, to preserve and protect those that fall or lag behind. With God's help, *I will do my best to serve God, my church and my fellow man. To live by the Ranger code and make the Golden rule my daily rule. I love you Larry-can.. Be at peace! Stick at this fire! Duane A#1 --- The Larrikin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Dear Brothers and Sisters, > I left Rangers. > I disagreed with the direction my Senior Commander was taking our > Outpost.
