IN the last days perilous times will come. Men shall be lovers of
them selves.... I wonder about this quite a bit lately. When it was
written, I don't believe they where speaking of homosexuality. A lot of
people seem to think that but look at Sodom and Gomorra, they already had
homosexuals and lesbians. SO, maybe they are referring to what we are
witnessing Today! Lovers of themselves as in looking out for only oneself.
Otherwise NO COMPASSION for anyone or anything but their selves. That maybe
why No one has any time for witnessing and outreach. Why our outposts are
dying for leadership. Men would rather please a whim like catching the
biggest fish or bagging the trophy Elk. They would rather watch football
instead of watching a sinner become a new creature. That's why so many
alter calls go without anyone coming to the alter. They don't have time, or
"maybe next time, lunch is burning" or "lets beat the Baptists to Lubys
cafeteria." We really are falling into Satan's plan for the world. We have
become numb due to all the violence and sin we see on Television and in the
newsprint. No wonder there is no compassion. Everyone is looking out for
self.
If we as Christians are to make a difference in this world, we had
better pray for and receive a real dose of compassion for our fellow man.
What are the true desires of your heart? Are you so earthly minded that you
are no heavenly good? Bear in mind that when I bring this topic up that it
is hitting me squarely in the face also. For I too have had the urge to
lookout for me and my own here lately. Plus look at Enron, and the other
financial scams that have occurred lately, The CEO's were only concerned for
self. They didn't look out for their employees. Well, that's enough said
about that. Tell me what you think.
