[RR] Jonah and the whale

All, I'm sure everone knows the story of Jonah and the whale. For the past few weeks a question has been floating around at work that I thought I'd ask to you guys. When Jonah was in the belly of the whale was he dead or alive? One of the guys at work seems to think he was dead and God brung him back to life. I think he was "near" death, because how can a dead man pray? In the different versions of the Bible I have read. None of them states as to what day or night Jonah started to pray. It just says he prayed from within the whales belly. Which to me means he prayed the whole time. What do you think?     Later, Noel"Spirit Rider"Bell
