Does anyone have Topo USA that has 7 cd's of all the topos in the usa? I
just got it and am checking it out. We went on a backpack at comptons in
Arkansas and it was much to my dismay more than I wanted our boys to
experience. Hence the topo program. It does a pretty good job of
displaying elevations etc. I looked at several trails we have been on
and know fairly well. It did a pretty good job of representing them...
not perfect but close.

It is neat as we can now print off a topo with headings for just about
anywhere in no time flat. This technlogy thing is really coming to full
bore huh. With the signs of the times... it sure adds up...RAPTURE
PRACTICE!!!

If all goes well the Ranger Database will be ready for download with the
new ranger program changes in a couple days. ( I am still waiting on
GPH...grin) The Ranger Database is several steps ahead of what it was a
year ago. So anyone who wants can start downloading the files from the
website the 5 files that are not there will be linked up in a day or two.
Each database file is ziped up. I will try this method as it will
bring the size of the download down considerably and allow us to put up
updates of just one file instead of the whole thing. Just copy the
files into your c:\rangers\rr directory and unzip them there. The CD can
be mailed to your house in the usa for $7.00 and includes some video help
footage as well as a simple install menu. ANYONE upgrading from earlier
versions need to back up there old files by renaming the directory they
are in and putting in these new files in that directory c:\rangers\rr
that have the same file names as the older program.

Importing is simply as easy as loading up the old database select the
records you want to import and then exit it and then load up the new file
and import those records you just selected by pointing to the old
database file. Like pouring water from one bucket into another bucket.
It is easy to do. One will have to do this for each database they have
records in.

The permission database has really been enhanced to cover most anything
you would need on a outing. Each outing has just to name a few.
Permision Slip, Flyer, Check Request Form, Bulletin Request Form, Check
off list, To do list, Delegation List, Prizes List, Menu, Activity
Schedule, Shopping List, Outing rules, signs, costume, fasiod, balance
sheet, money calculator and more.

That is just one of the files that has been enhanced. Basicly as I go in
our Outpost, Section Div, Dist. The things I will do again and again I
make a way of organizing them so the next time I do them the work it is
mostly done.. just need to change the numbers and dates and times.

Well I have rambled on long enough. Rangernet has been kind of slow
lately. Thought I would throw in some different stuff.

Anyone for a Rangermobile Race photo?
