Part 3 of ARE YOU A LEADER?
Subject
Lead by Example

I have heard this phrase so much this last few years that it is
finally starting to stick within my brain. Okay leaders, I know you
can get good information on being a good example. But are you one,
can you measure yourself to others, and can you improve anything too?

It all starts with this one thing: EVERYTHING YOU DO SENDS A
MESSAGE
Do you keep your promises? Do you make commitments you cant keep?
Think about it, its a right thing to do to keep your word.
Do people come to you for answers? About Rangers, uniform
correctness, ideas, helps, or anything to better themselves or their
Outpost?
Do people regularly ask you questions and think you might have the
right answers?
If you say, Im not sure, lets look it up or find out. That is
still a good example. It shows those under you that it is Okay to be
human and that everyone needs help.

What ever you do dont respond to answers with a sorry attitude like
        1. Get away, I know what I am doing
        2. My Leader over me dont know squat
        3. Its Okay to break the rules if know ones knows
This could go on and on, these answers are bad examples of your
training towards others within the Ranger program.

It has been said that every action we take is either good for
discipline or bad for it. When those that look towards you as a
leader and see disrespect, ignore, or try to do it your way instead
of what the Commander wanted.
YOU ARE SENDING A SUBTLE MESSAGE THAT IT IS OKAY TO MAKE YOUR
OWN JUDGMENTS AND RULES WHEN IT COMES TO ORDERS.
Want to be a good example?
Well, start examining yourself in the mirror.
None of us can say were perfect, including the old mule man Chaplain
