3 Royal Ranger Leaders went on a hike today checking out water falls and
camping spots for future Ranger outings. We hiked about 8 miles
exploring and tromping through about 1" of snow. The weather turned off
nice with 47 degrees and most of the snow melted while we were down
there.
My aching ole body is showing signs of the up's 600' and down's 600' of
the trip. It was enjoyable to just get out and enjoy the beautiful
Arkansas Buffalo River Valley. We had lunch at one of the most
spectacular water falls in the area. (Not much water flowing today but
the potential was there). A metal match and some cedar bark got us a
nice little fire going for lunch and a nap!
Any of you have any experience with the GPS hand helds?
