We recently bought a timer from a company called Super Timer
(www.supertimer.com). The software runs great and is very flexible when it
comes to entering racers and using more than 3 lanes. Our track we
currently have is a 6 lane, wooden one and the installing of the components
went smoothly. (although they have tracks there for sale as well). Keep in
mind however that the super timer software decides a winner by the average
speed of the racer. It will make every car entered run once on every lane
and generate an overall average time. I personally see this as a bonus in
case you have a lane that is misbehaving. Anyway I hope this helps!

Greetings... we are planning to purchase a pinewood derby track and timer
and
wanted to know if anyone had information on the best track and or price. We
