Yes English literature. Last night I watched "Pride and Prejudice", part two, again. (BBC production) What a delight to hear the well trimmed and clean language of days gone by. Anne of Green Gables provides the same pleasure.

Often we hear of quotes and do not comprehend the meaning-
yet in time they unfold like a flower..
In Shakespeare's King John not only do we learn of gilding gold
or painting the Lilly, but also we meet a series of phrases about
smoothing the ice, perfumeing the violet and adding hue to the rainbow.
I don't mean to garnish Heaven's Eye..with tapered light(*the moon)
or add to your alarm by doing the very same thing, that I am critical
of with superfluity<G>
However you may argure, that is my intention<G>
