For those of you that know me and love me, have I got something to tell you! In a few days it will be a year since my stroke that took out my whole right side. If you remember, I was making strides (pardon the pun) in using my leg and foot. I was up to 140 feet! Then, I took a bad fall and went back to square one. Only this time it set off other things inside my body. I became very weak, and several infections set in. They sent me to the hospital again. I was hooked to 3 ivs and filled with shots and drugs and was visited by a surgeon. I was informed that they were going to have to remove my leg up to the knee. I told them that I would not consent because God didn't want my leg. He took Frapper aside and told him to talk me into it. Frapper said that if I said no, that was it. The next morning they wheeled me into surgery and I took the dr's elbow and told him I was praying that God give him wisdom and guide his hands. He smiled embarrassed and said he was praying for me. When I came to, I found out he only had to take the under part of my heel! The neext morning, he couldn't believe his eyes! My foot had already started healing! Diabetics dont heal or else they take years. The next day new skin started granulating and he said that he didn't do this, that God gets all the credit. Now, that was only 3 months ago. I have breathing difficulties and some oth3er problems from the infections, but the surgeon looked at my foot Tues day and declared it is 900 percent better! He couldnt believe it, but is still giving thr Lord the credit. I will not have to have reconstructive surgery! My heel is filling in. the particular thing is that the type of skin does not rebuild and mine is. I will only have to have to wear a foam insert in my shoe! A far cry from no leg at all. Is God cool or what! janet _______
