I put you "Fear" under my feet...

Amen!

The only good fear is the fear of the LORD!

Please pray for the outlaws that tried to hold us up, last Saturday.

Right in front of my desk, I have Isaiah 54:17 displayed:

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD.

I believe that. As a consequence, I didn't really believe that the thing that looked like a shotgun or the very large bush knife (machete) that the two highway robber wannabes on the side of the road to Kainantu were brandishing would prevail against us. I floored the accelerator instead of slowing down. (It is hard to go very fast on that very bumpy dirt road!) I really didn't want to make it easy for them to harm Lori or the two boys in the back (Ben & a friend). The guy with the bush knife did not strike at me as I passed on the narrow road (which he was close enough to do), and the guy holding the shotgun did not even take proper aim. Maybe they were too high on marijuana or too drunk to move fast enough to pull off a proper highway robbery. Maybe it was God's Holy angels restraining them. Either way, they need to give their lives to Jesus Christ. Please pray that they repent and do exactly that.

About 6 months ago, I met a man at L. I. F. E. Bible College near Goroka who was preparing to enter the ministry. Before he was saved, he used to be a highway robber. It would be nice to see the two guys we are praying for preparing to enter Christian ministry, too.

After passing the two weapon-wielding lost souls, we continued on in to Kainantu, called to warn some friends, then delivered the notebook computer to Pastor Roland that he needed for his Indonesia mission work. (It was really old, had some dead pixels in the screen, and had some other problems, but I was able to replace some parts, reconfigure the software, and get it working for what he needed.)

Lori played soccer with the SIL women's team, Saturday in the last game of the season. (Lori is the only expatriate on the team, so it is a cultural learning experience.) The other team was losing, so complained about a bogus rule violation, and ended up getting both teams eliminated from the competition. Playing by the rules isn't always the rule, here. (Lori's team would have won. They were playing much better.) The SIL men's team played after that, and won. It was nice to see good sportsmanship. The other team was mostly Christians, too, so this game was much more sportsmanlike. After the game (and stopping for a snack at the market), we headed back to Ukarumpa on the only road (the one we would like to see paved & patrolled) in a convoy. We got back without incident.
