I would invite you over for a snow-free visit, but you probably don't have a boat seaworthy enough to make it all the way to this island. The ocean can be less forgiving than Oregon roadways. You know, there are lots of places that are "almost" paradise on this planet. If it weren't for sin, crime, disease, war, disasters, mosquitoes, and stuff breaking, you might think you were in Heaven already. Almost. There is no snow, here. It is 80 F, the trees are green, the flowers are in bloom, and the birds are singing. Colorful lorikeets are especially active in the morning and evening. Now if it weren't for the mosquitoes bearing potentially deadly tropical diseases, robbers on Barola mountain who robbed a friend of mine last week, and tribal war where people burn each other's houses down and just shot a boy in the hand with an arrow, I might think I was in paradise here, too. As it is, we need to work at it to find good, pure, praiseworthy things to dwell on, as Paul exhorted us to do in his letter to the Philippians. God's Word is going forth!
