Ice is slowly melting in PDX leaveing this town 4 days behind in business and mail..
My USFS Chevy sat there in Ice for a week and I used a square nosed shovel to scrape the windsheild.. Last summer the heater went funky and I didn't have the courage to tear out the dash to find the ruptured heater core.. so that left me this morning in a 2 hour traffic jam hopeing the sun would come out<G> It didn't<G> How did I melt the remaining ICE? *Easy- I started driveing.. turned off the radio and took off my coat, gloves and then wool hat<G> I beagan to think thru the politics of Royal Rangers and the demise of our local outpost, due to half-cocked and hollow AoG pastoral impersonators. I meditated on just why... Women may serve as leaders of boys in the younger groups and then suffer obvious discrimination throughout the rest of the orginization for no good reason. When I remembered the excitement of bringing OP207 to NW Powwow in 1995 after a 10 year absence.. *of Sr.Cdr bailing at the last min. and my Church sceduleing Vacation Bible School that week<G> *That was the camp where Cdr.Jen had been apointed "Area Commander" on sectional staff and the Camp speaker was FCF Pres. Fred Deaver. *How great to meet the gentalman.. as a Charted FCF member and have him blow a gasket that my wife was wearing "blue clusters" and a Kahki RR uniform.. AND ALL THAT FOLLOWED- *THE ICE WAS FALLING FROM THE GLASS BY THEN.. The rest of the trip in.. *I thought about what our Nation would be like today, *If a man like Sen John McCain had been ELECTED PRESIDENT of the USA! *Heat in a Ice storm?
