Hi DJ!  After 9 years as a Sr. Commander I found the Sr. Commander to be in the position to approach and approve Outpost Council.  I found the men and woman in our church that had a God given desire to help in Rangers.  I put them to work in what they liked to do and did my best to not give them jobs they don't like to do....(sometimes this isn't possible as I do jobs daily I don't like to do..grin!)  First off, advertise your need in the church bulletin.  One time I got up and put on a pair of stocks and went up on the platform on a Sunday morning sharing my burden for the Royal Ranger Ministry explaining the need for leaders.  Ask for some pulpit time, make it point to be on the platform at least once a quarter,  show the one in a million video.  I found that God would lead me to those men that had a interest in Rangers and found this one fact very very true.  You can assign the world to people and if their heart isn't in it it will be waste of time... however if God sends you the help and you thank and appreciate them and give praise where it is do you can have a staff of 24 leaders a hundred people in your outpost and 5 outpost council or more.  It takes work and it is a weekly venture.

You can do it!

Mark Jones, Springfield South Sectional Commander
The (very) few commanders remaining cannot do it all.  The main thing I'm wondering about is the Outpost Council.  How many of you have an Outpost Council?  How does it work in your particular outpost?  Have any of you had to be the catalyst to start/form a Council in your outpost?  How did you go about it?
