Sounds like great beginnings for you!!  We'll pray the God will lead your path all the way.  5 unchurched boys=5 unchurched families.  What a great oppurtunity to Reach!!  Keep going strong.

Whatta Month this has been!

In the past month, I've gotten so busy! I've been selected by the pastor
and board to fill an unexpired term left vacated, appointed to a vision
casting team for our church as well as a team of leaders whose job it will
be to scrutinize the various ministries and see if they are in fact meeting
their mission purpose, and if not, what we need to do to help them do that.

As expected, I've been asked, and appointed, to serve as Sr. Commander of
our outpost upon the retirement of my predessessor. I've since sat down and
come up with a calendar of events for our outpost, including the District
and Sectional events already set. I've had a very long chat with our pastor
and we will be forming, training and implementing an Outpost Council. Since
we only have a few boys, I'm approaching this whole thing, kind of, as
starting an outpost from scratch. We only have myself, a RangerKids
commander (whose idea of preparing is to grab the box with crayons and
pencils on his way to the room with the boys after opening ceremonies), a
chaplain (who for 3 years has given 15-20 minute sermonettes for devotions),
and a Lt. Commander who has just gotten involved about 3 weeks ago. What a
starting point, huh? HOWEVER, I believe in a God who can do ALL things,
with, by, through and completely in spite of me and my efforts. My
intention is to REACH, TEACH and KEEP boys for CHRIST!

We have 7 boys, two of them are regular church attendees (my son and our
Rainbows sponsor's son) the rest only come on Wed. night for Rangers. In
the mess of leadership change, we got papers from the District office about
a Winter Blast at the end of Feb. We only had 2 days until the deadline to
get the boys registered to go. I asked for and received an extension for a
few days so I could get a head count and mail the stuff later. All 7 boys'
parents said YES, My Ranger can go!!! First event we've even tried to get
to in several years, and we get 100% participation! Praise God!

All that as well as serving as Sectional Secretary. WHEW!!

I can't wait to see what else He is going to do.

Sorry to be so long winded (fingered?), but wanted to share what god is
doing.

In His Grip,

DJ
