Hello everybody. To all who know me, I'm sorry for not writing earlier.
To those who don't, I do really hope you will read on because I need your
help,not for myself but for my dearest sister.
My sister's name is Wan Ching. She is 32 going on 33. She is married
and is presently residing in Subang. At her age, many women would be either
enjoying motherhood or a good career. Something went wrong many years
ago.
My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 25 (a year after
she got married). The cancer grew fast. It spread to her rib bones within a
year. At present, she's suffering from bone cancer all over her body.
She went through the usual - chemotherapy, radiation, medication of sorts.
She lost her hair, they grew again. She lost her hair again, and they
grew again. Right now, after bouts of radiation on her skull, she is still
waiting for those hair to grow fully.The one thing I would say we were
lucky with, was the fact that my sis has always been a very optimistic person.
She never wanted us to worry about her. Many people who see us together
would mistakenly think that I am the one with the illness (probably due to
having to take care of 2 active boys) instead of her. She didn't let it show at all. She was strong all the time.............until now.
Bone cancer is the most 'painful' cancer to have to fight. It is
starting to empower my sister in every way. She had to give up cooking and baking (her greatest hobby) because they took up most of her energy. She also has to be careful not to move her hands and legs too much for fear that they will crack or break. (One of her shoulder bone cracked on July 2003 because she moved it too quickly during my brother's wedding dinner). She would rather not travel long distance in a car because her bones and joints will ache.
Every movement will have to be taken with caution. The worst has
started rearing its ugly head. She is losing the battle. Suffering from fourth stage cancer, my sister is now a person full of dejection. The pain she has to bear brings tears to her eyes more often than it used to. She had to take painkillers everyday! It breaks our hearts everytime we see her cry. I'm writing now to appeal to all who read this. My sister needs your help in every way that is non-monetary. I need you people to help me help her.
My request:-
1) I need one minute of your time on 29th February 2004, Sunday,at 3.00p.m.
(Malaysian time). I need a thousand-people-prayer to help my sister
that she be cured of all the pain she has to go through. I know many of
you people might not think this will help much. But as long as I have
the faith in it, I'm sure it will. So please, friends, please pray for
my sister on the stated date and time. Whatever religion you believe,
please pray for my sister through your religion. Please make time this
29th at 3.00p.m, to pray for my sister from wherever you are. You may
tell your friends and families to do it together with you.
2) I need you people to help me spread this message to all your friends.I
need as many people to help me here as possible. Please send this
message out to as many friends as you possibly can. Lastly, I'm sorry if
this request might seem silly to any of you. It's my only hope that my
dearest sister be cured. Once again, thanks for reading this. My
prayers will be with all who pray with me.
