Bob,

thank you for the reply.
Right now we are in the swing of having our annual meetings.
We just had our district meeting and next week I will attend our National
Meeting in Dresden, East-Germany.
The upcoming sectional camp in June is the next bigger event for which we
are in the planning stage.

In May we have our sectional training camp for Trail Rangers. This will help
them to get their Silver Lily that is required to attend a JLTC.

In January we had our third "Night in the Huertgenwald" for the
Trailrangers.
( The war buddies among you will know that WWII area.)
This was an all-night hike in unknown territory for most of the Rangers.
The orientation in pitch darkness was handled by the boys and girls in an
excellent manner.
Later in the night it began to snow.

We concentrate our efforts more around the Trailrangers.
The next bigger event will be a "History Trail" in the same area where the
Battle of the Bulge took place.
This will extend over several days where the Trailrangers have to follow the
battle lines of Nov. 1944.
Different locations, military cemetaries and other war related places have
to be discovered.

I know this sounds unusual especially for Rangers.
But we want to make the kids aware of recent history and draw their own
conclusions of what happens if you blindly follow the crowd as happened in
the 1930s.

The weather is lousy, with occasional snow.
But this is the season for that type of weather.
In February we went out on a winter bivuak with the Explorers/Kundschafter
to expose them to their first experience sleeping in the cold.
Amazingly they all liked it.

Herzliche Grsse und
Allzeit bereit fr Jesus

Guenter

P.S.
I miss the "old style Rangernet".
