All of Rangernet & Friends,

I received this from my Sr. Cmdr at my church's outpost, Alan Montgomery.   My Church is Grace Church of Fredericksburg VA. (Gary is Gary Wagner, the Central Sectional Cmdr. in the Potomac District. [for the missive below])  This information has also been forwarded to Cmdr. Harlan who is the District Cmdr.

Usually in a SAR (Search and Recovery) mission like this it is turned over to the Coast Guard in conjunction with the local law enforcement agencies. Please note: Congress & the NTSB are already asking questions about this very incident as reported by local news radio WTOP www.wtop.com

Since the original message came from the Ranger National Office, I just wanted to copy them back for this news.

Let's continue to hold the Bentrems in Prayer!

Mike,

I have been following this closely since Monday.  This is an outpost in our

section and we were just at that church 3 weeks ago as part of our ER/AR

event.  Although I did not meet Commander Bentrem, I did talk with other

commanders there.  We prayed for the family Monday night at Rangers.

Gary has been keeping us informed (see below)....

Please pray for Dr. George Bentrem (a Royal Ranger commander with Outpost 232 in Harrisonburg, Va.) and his family.  The Bentrem family was on board the water taxi that capsized in Baltimore harbor on Saturday afternoon (March 6th).  The Bentrem's five-year-old son, Daniel, is still missing.  The rest of the family -- George, his wife and their two daughters --  were rescued, although one of the girls, Sarah, was pulled unconscious from the water and remains in critical condition at this time with limited brain activity.

Recovery efforts continue in the Baltimore harbor to try and find Daniel and two others missing from the accident.  Pray that they will be found soon.  Pray for Sarah to recover fully.  She has opened her eyes and moved her fingers.  Pray for peace of mind for George and his wife.

In the meantime, anyone who would like to express their support and sympathy to the family is asked to send cards or gifts to the Bentrem family at First Assembly of God, 1310 Garber's Church Rd., Harrisonburg, VA  22801.

Thanks!

Alan,

Thought you might like to see this.

I received this from a friend in Nevada.  As you well know most of the time, the farther the news travels, the less details are provided.

Subject: Prayer Request for Potomac District

Commanders,

We received a call this morning from Tony Wilson, senior commander at OP 232 in the PO district. A Ranger family in his church was involved in the water taxi tragedy on Friday in the Baltimore Harbor.

One of the three people still missing is a Ranger Kid (6 yrs old). His name is Daniel. His sister Sarah (8 yrs old) is in critical condition at a local hospital. She was trapped under the boat for 35 min before her rescue. She was pronounced brain dead on Saturday; however, scans on Sunday showed brain activity. She can now open her eyes and move her hands. One of her doctors is from India. He has seen the improvements in her condition and has told the family to continue praying to their God. Their dad, George, is the Ranger Kids commander at the church. The commanders and pastors at their church are taking turns staying and praying with the family at the hospital.

We are asking that you-the district commanders, executive committee, and office staff-hold this family in prayer.
