Manuel,
It's
funny you should ask that. Our outpost is planning a afternoon bike ride after
we host a car wash on a Saturday in May.
We are
blessed that the Katy Trail (an abandoned railroad line) is only twenty miles
away. Very flat but scenic as it parallels the Missouri
River.
Advice, keep the boys out of traffic. Have them wear
helmets (borrow if they do not have their own). Check their bikes over before
leaving for mechanical defects. Have several size innertubes with patch kits and
tire pump along (there is a CO2 pump that works on the air rifle CO2
cartridges). First aid kit is a must. Water bottles. Food, fun and
excitement.
May
you have a blessed trip,
Bob
Triphahn

Subject: [RR] Biking outing ideas/ Thanks 4 all your good ideas!Hi everyone!I'm planning to do a biking outing with my outpost during the beginning of Spring; so, I'd like to get some good ideas from those who have done this kind of outing before. I don't have to many boys, actually it'd be less than 5 boys (Adventure Rangers). I'm planning also to involve some parents.Ideas keeping in mind:Lenght of the outing (half a day, all day long, etc)Places to go (safety first)Other activities to do (besides biking within the same outing)Etc.Appreciate all your ideas;Manuel HenaoOutpost 143Faith A/GNewton NJDo you Yahoo!?
