I notice it too but figured they met the requirements for outings. One
year at Pow Wow a small church showed up on Saturday one commander and
one boy. He was a past commander older feller and their church really
didn't have a ranger program going. I saw them pull up and start setting
up and invited them to join in with us. They did. He told me he had
tried to get others to join in and come along but none would. Faced with
that situation. I think I would avoid it on grounds of what if... as I
have had what if's come up before and was only protected by the 3 people
rule.

Even at work as a phoneman. If there is a lone minor there. I make other
arrangements to come back when an adult will be home. In my 25 years at
SBC I have learned that not everyone including Royal Rangers often don't
live up to the code and can make one's life miserable unless the proper
precautions and protocol is followed. Some of the things people have
tried to pull will make you raise your eye brows.

99% of the time people are on the up and up... it's that one percent that
you have to make the rules about.

I am thankful that our Father in Heaven watches over us. With out His
help and covering it wouldn't be near as fun and fulfilling.

It pays to use that RR training and follow those rules.

I have found these Requirements to make things work and work well.

1. Create a flyer advertising the outing at least 2 Outpost Meetings
before the event.

2. Create a permission slip with the time to drop off/ pickup time for
parents. Where, When, How and Why should be on this permission slip.
Include cost for admission, food, and state requirements. This
permission slip should be handed out no less then one week from activity.
At this time poll the boys as to who plans on attending the event. Then
create a list of those who plan on attending.

3. Medical Release form must be in your possession before leaving the
Church. You as a Commander must have a Medical Release Form and a
Permission Slip in a binder for EACH BOY that is going. Always remember
to have extras available the day of the outing.

4. All Rangers should be in or bring their ranger uniform while on
outings unless stated otherwise.

5. The evening before the event it is a good idea to call and verify
leaders will be there. Arrive 30 minutes before leaving and always be
back on time. Schedule your time and stick to the schedule.

6, At the next Ranger Outpost Meeting have the boys come forward
and talk about the outing. Points should be awarded for those boys who
attend outings. Never, Never leave the Church without the required paper
work for each boy and avoid situations that would have only 2 in a group.

7. Always pray before leaving or traveling. Stay prayed up before the outing. Outings are so very important to the rangers development. A well planned outing reflects on you.

This is in the Ranger Database in the Forms Section.
