Kelvin,
Don't remember a recipe per se but have seen it done in two different ways.
One way is to plant a pointed stick in the ground. Then lay a layer of aluminum around it.
You will need to make the foil bigger than the mouth of the garbage can (metal type btw).
You impale the bird on the stick, place the can over it. Then lay charcoal around the base of the can on the outside. You roll up the foil around the charcoal to help hold in the heat.
You place additional charcoal atop the can. Cooking time, I've heard is around 4 hours and the meat literally falls off the bone and is the juiciest turkey you will ever tickle your tonsils with.
The second method is merely a variation by hanging the bird by a wire suspended across the top of the can.
Hope this helps. Enjoy.
By the way that was one of the most memorable moments of a very memorable ANTC that came to be called Floyd's Folly. Those who attended will understand the name.

I've gotten no response to the initial request for how to do it.

Anyone remember how to cook the turkey in the garbage can from ANTC?

If so, please send the "recipe" or the "how to." I want to try it.

Kelvin
