We just finished a merit camp for DR and AR boys that included archery.
20-lb bows from 15 feet with standard archery targets. It took several hours to get 55 boys qualified on the range with three stations running. (All we asked for qualifying was that they hit within the outer circle.) For some of the boys, reaching the target at 15 feet was a serious issue....

Archery Event: INPUT?
I got home tonight and had my son and my nephew make some Pow Wow Event
archery targets. We took some gunny sack material bought at wal-mart
3'x4' cost 1.92 cents per piece and 4 cans of spray paint.
Blue,Red,Yellow, Black to match the beads we generally give out. We took
some wrapping paper a string a screw driver and a perment marker and made
3 circles each circle 5" larger than the previous one. Then cut the
circles out of the wrapping paper and sprayed the circles with the
different colors of paint. Will have 12 bales of straw and tie the
targets to a stack of 3 bales of hay making 4 archery stations. What is
a good distance to anybody got any ideas for rules? I was thinking of
each boy shooting 3 times. I have 24 arrows do you think that will last
with 500 boys shooting them? Any help or advice?

Bows will be from 9 - 22 pounds.
Thanks for any field experience or advice you might have.
