[delayed - nonmember submission; extra recipient list edited out; please PRAY for supernatural peace for brother Thorne & family - MPJ] Hullo, My brother Bruce called me at 2.30 a.m. to advise that my mother, who was 88 years old, had died in her sleep tonight. Vivienne and I visited her last Saturday, July 31 when we had one of our little excursions to the waterfront at Newcastle where she enjoyed her visit to the Starfish Cafe and her Pasta Carbonaro lunch. At that time we noticed some effects from the recent mini stroke that she had suffered in mid July but generally she was not particularly worse than the previous month. In Elsie's case it has been a gentle slipping away that has occurred these past few months. She was tired of life in the Nursing Home at Edgeworth near Newcastle, even though the conditions there were excellent and the staff always attentive to her needs. I could not complain about anything there, the staff were always responsive. However Elsie was just tired of life, as she was forced to live it in her wheel chair without any possibility of improvement, she needed continual medical assistance - hence her being in the Nursing Home for the past four years. She missed her family environment very much. At this stage, I know no more of any arrangements for her funeral etc, as naturally Bruce was not making much sense himself at 2:30 a.m. - however since I am wide awake, I thought I would turn the PC on and use the Internet to advise you of this news. So folks, if you are relying on me for something in the short term, please be patient. I know I was late with my mailing in July due to a severe bout of influenza that kept me house bound for nine days. I had hoped the August Regional mailing would be on time! Certainly next week I expect to be in the Hunter Valley some days. Lots I still do not know. Howeverone thing I do know - Elsie loved her Saviour, Jesus Christ, and is at this time present with her Lord.
