*MPJ.. 'ole -=A=- wants to make it clear that BSA is appointed to fight
this battle not Royal Rangers..
BSA has the resources and the will to stand up for right.
"A scout is moraly straight..."
What you say is on target when we band to support their stand. I
hear the decision will be before the US Supream Court, and then we will
our day.
I was talking with Scouters, and they despise the trends that BSA has
chosen, in that they change with the times to appeal to the culture of
today.. i.e. the lessening of outdoor camping as the "medifore" for
scouting.. *But at the heart of scouting is retaining the core
principals of their Scout Law.
The Court ruleing, seems contrary to these core values they pledge to
defend.
*I do not think Royal Rangers could stand up as the Scouts do...
But the scouts have become vunerable.. by accepting the general public
as they come. I attended Scoutmaster training, and it was made clear that
leadersdhip must allways be on guard for the "odd-ball" and we all must
culture a "2-deep" garentee that no boy would ever be addressed without
2 others present.
Have we pledged that in Rangers?
