Dear Rangers,
A while ago I posted how I feel about my closest friends, I came
across this little gem today. So I thought I would post it and my
orginal statement.

Portrait of a Friend

I can't give solutions to all of life's problems, doubts, or fears.
But I can listen to you, and together we will search for answers.

I can't change your past with all it's heartache and pain, nor the
future
with it's untold stories.
But I can be there now when you need me to care.

I can't keep your feet from stumbling.
I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.

Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine;
Yet I can share in your laughter.

Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;
I can only support you, encourage you, and help you when you
ask.

I can't prevent you from falling away from friendship, from your
values,
from me.
I can only pray for you, talk to you and wait for you.

I can't give you boundaries which I have determined for you,
But I can give you the room to change, room to grow, room to be
yourself.

I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting,
But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces and put
them back
in place.

I can't tell you who you are.
I can only love you and be your friend.

What are real friends?
Firstly, there is acquantances, people we know their face but that's
about all.
Secondly, outer friends, people we talk to occansionly but we do
not get to know them.
Thirdly, inner friends, these are the one we can talk ot openly about
how we feel.
Fourly, Best Friends, These are the ones we can count on when
we need to. And the ones that we are willing to help. (although we
should help all that we can. It is easier to help those we know)
Fifthly, Mates, These are the ones that GENTLY correct our
mistakes. They do not say "Don't to that". They say "Why not try it
this way" Mates are the ones we can count on at all times to aid
us and comfort us. For many of us our Best Mate is our wifes (or
Husbands), but we do have others that we can count on as well.
They will not let you down.

For me, I am happy to say "Jesus is my Best Mate" He was the
one who gave life and my wife to help me find him. It Lindy that has
been my anchor when I've wanted to rush into something without
thinking. He also provided Bram, so I could have a male
companion to talk to. Between Jesus, Lindy and Bram, I am a very
blessed man.

I know I have many close friends on the 'Net and I value these
friendships deeply, but sometimes you need a shoulder to cry on
or someone just to listen to you talk.

There is an ols saying;
"False friends are like Autum leaves, found every where,
True friends are like diamonds, precious and rare,
So treasure the true friends you have."

There's a storm coming, our Storm.
PROCLAIMING GOD'S LOVE TO A DYING WORLD
Say to the captives, 'come out,' and those in darkness, 'Be free!'
Isaiah 49:9
I looked to the heavens to where God dwells
I looked into my life to see he lives there as well.
